Carlite(R) Brand Replacement Glass Business Integrated Into Visteon Global Aftermarket
LIVONIA, Mich., Oct. 26 -- Visteon Automotive Systems is
gearing up for the aftermarket.
In a move aimed at positioning it as an industry leader, Visteon has
folded its nearly $200 million replacement glass business, or Carlite
Strategic Business Unit (SBU) into its Global Aftermarket Operations.
Carlite, a well-respected brand in the replacement glass industry, has
more than 75 years of experience producing, marketing and distributing
replacement glass, windshields and tempered parts that meet exacting original
equipment standards for a wide range of vehicle specifications.
"Bringing Carlite under the aftermarket umbrella at Visteon allows us to
maximize and build on its strengths in order to expand our aftermarket
business," says David Peace, director of Visteon's Global Aftermarket
Operations. "Also, this move opens up the possibility of utilizing new
distribution channels for other Visteon aftermarket products in the future."
As the leading producer of automotive glass in North America, Carlite
offers state-of-the-art glass technology, world-class manufacturing resources,
a strong brand name synonymous with quality, and an established distribution
network throughout North America.
Visteon Automotive Systems, an enterprise of Ford Motor Company, has
82,000 employees located in 21 countries. Visteon has 81 plants -- 32 joint
ventures and 49 wholly owned facilities -- and 36 sales offices, engineering
and technical centers. Visteon's corporate headquarters is located in
