ESG Adds Inc. 500 Honor to "Fast-Growing" Reputation
SOUTHFIELD, Mich.--Oct. 23, 1998--The Engineering Services Group (ESG) continued to be acknowledged as one of the country's fastest-growing organizations when it was included as one of the prestigious Inc. 500, a comprehensive guide to America's fastest-growing companies published by Inc. Magazine. The Inc. 500, which reached newsstands on October 20, is an exclusive report on the companies and CEOs who are changing the face of American business.ESG is an independent manufacturing engineering service organization headquartered in Southfield, Michigan. (The firm will open a Southern Regional Office in Greenville, South Carolina in November.) Now in its second decade, ESG has emerged as a leader in its profession, distinguished by its experience in lean manufacturing processes and cutting-edge application of information technology. ESG's services have improved the manufacturing operations of companies worldwide and helped get products to market faster and more effectively. Its clients include the automotive OEMs and suppliers, as well as many major manufacturers in non-automotive fields such as construction machinery, appliance and aircraft.
"Our growth in 1998 can be attributed first and foremost to the increased client demand for integrated manufacturing engineering solutions," said Michael J. Marlo, ESG president and CEO. "This is an enterprise-wide approach which integrates `traditional' systems and equipment engineering services with value-added manufacturing engineering services such as line balancing, containerization and material flow. This combination positioned ESG to offer unique, unmatched solutions that enabled our clients to increase their competitiveness. In the future, we'll sustain our growth levels by continuing to emphasize client satisfaction and by bringing integrated manufacturing engineering solutions into more domestic and world markets. We are privileged to be a part of the 1998 Inc. 500, and thank our clients and employees for collectively making this honor possible."
The Inc. 500 ranking was the latest in a series of honors ESG has received in 1998 for its consistent growth over the past five years. October also brought ESG recognition as one of the "Future 50 of Greater Detroit". One of only three companies to gain this accolade for four straight years, this competition acknowledged the 50 fastest growing companies in the metropolitan Detroit area. Additionally, in May ESG became one of only eight firms to be named to Michigan's Private 100 for the fifth year in a row, a ranking which measured employment and sales growth figures against other firms throughout the state of Michigan.
