Three Executives at Johnson Controls Appointed to New Management RolesPLYMOUTH, Mich., Oct. 22 -- Automotive interior supplier Johnson Controls has announced the appointment of three top executives to new positions, effective immediately. Randy Leslie has been named vice president of sales and business development for the company's Toyota Business Unit. Stewart Lang has been promoted to vice president and general manager of Johnson Controls' Ford Business Unit. And Dan Bourbon has been named general manager-North America for the company's Ford Business Unit. The changes support efforts at the company's Automotive Systems Group to develop world-class, customer-focused business units and to leverage new business opportunities. Johnson Controls is one of the world's largest suppliers of vehicle interior systems. Leslie is based in Plymouth, Michigan, and reports to Garry Cardwell, vice president and general manager of Johnson Controls' Toyota Business Unit, in Georgetown, Kentucky. He joined Johnson Controls in 1989 as a sales account manager, and later served as sales director and as general manager in Johnson Controls' Ford Business Unit. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in business administration from Michigan State University and a master's degree in business administration from Wayne State University. Since 1996, Lang had been serving as general manager of the company's Ford Business Unit in Europe. He previously held the positions of general manager of European complete seating and managing director of Ikeda Hoover, a Johnson Controls joint venture with Ikeda Bussan of Japan. Lang joined the company in 1974. In his new role, Lang will direct Johnson Controls' worldwide activities with Ford and report to Mike Johnston, president of the company's Americas Automotive Group. He will be based in Plymouth, Michigan. Lang earned a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Brighton Polytechnic in the United Kingdom. Since 1997, Bourbon served as president and general manager of Intertec Systems, a joint venture between Johnson Controls and Inoac Corporation of Japan, located in Southfield, Michigan. He will relocate to Johnson Controls' technology center in Plymouth, Michigan. Bourbon joined Prince, a Holland, Michigan-based subsidiary of Johnson Controls, in 1988 as business manager for New American Manufacturers. He has served in a number of positions during the past 10 years, including business manager for international sales development, and vice president of international business operations. Bourbon also spent 21 years at General Motors in manufacturing and materials management. He earned a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from General Motors Institute and a master of science degree in forest management from Michigan State University.
