SOS Alarm and Technor International Establish Technical Platform for Alarm SignallingProven Reliability and New Technology Partner for Safety and Security in Sweden STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Oct. 20 -- Swedish-based emergency operator SOS Alarm AB is joining forces with Technor International, Inc. wholly owned Swedish subsidiary CellPoint Systems AB to provide new services across Sweden. The establishment of the technical platform and a dedicated communications link will enable the evaluation of vehicle theft location and recovery as well as emergency assistance for personal alarms. "SOS Alarm's unique expertise is based on the joint functioning of people and technology at the alarm receiving centres in combination with our experience handling emergency situations," says Thomas Stenback, Business Development Manager with SOS Alarm. "Using CellPoint's positioning technology, we will be able to take immediate action in locating stolen vehicles as well as protecting individuals in the event of personal threat. This is a major step in fighting crime against property and people." The CellPoint System uses the reliable GSM network for positioning stolen vehicles and can also use the GPS system for positioning in emergency situations. When it comes to the recovery of stolen cars and other property the GSM signal can penetrate indoors, a major advance in recovering stolen property, such as personal vehicles, company vehicles, rental equipment, etc. GPS satellite systems cannot address the recovery dilemma if a vehicle is taken indoors, onboard a boat, into a container or underground, which is how most crime rings operate. "The CellPoint System will have a major impact against these crimes because vehicles and assets equipped with the CellPoint GSM terminal cannot be concealed in the traditional manner," says Christer Forsstrom, Managing Director of CellPoint Systems AB. "Plus, using the telematics capabilities, the vehicle can literally announce its presence to recovery personnel by making its lights flash or the horn honk. This can easily be remotely activated by a control centre such as SOS Alarm." SOS Alarm provides a nation-wide rescue centre and has 25 years experience providing alarm services to individuals, public and private companies. Their centres in every county in Sweden are manned around the clock, all year round by 600 specially-educated SOS operators who receive approximately 16 million calls per year. According to statistics, in 1997 approximately 8% of vehicle theft cases in Sweden were solved. In South Africa, over 90% of stolen vehicles equipped with the CellPoint technology are recovered. Forsstrom expects similar results here in Sweden and sees explosive potential for the CellPoint technology. He says, "According to the Ovum Report this June on Mobile Location Services, by the end of 2005, the number of vehicles equipped with a mobile location device in Europe will be more than 10 million, with more than 7 million in North America. We have a proven, working solution today and fully intend to quickly deploy our technology to major markets." CellPoint Systems AB, a wholly owned subsidiary of Technor International, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: TNOR) markets, sells, distributes and supports the CellPoint digital cellular positioning technology. CellPoint's primary focus continues to be the initial target countries in Europe including France, Italy, Germany, the UK and Sweden.
