Tenneco Automotive Names Senior Vice President and General Manager for North American Aftermarket
LAKE FOREST, Ill.--Oct. 19, 1998--Tenneco Automotive today announced that Joel Campbell has been named senior vice president and general manager of Tenneco Automotive's North American aftermarket business unit.Campbell joins Tenneco Automotive from Cooper Automotive, where, as company president, his responsibilities included management of its worldwide business operations.
Campbell brings to Tenneco Automotive's aftermarket business more than 32 years of management experience and 18 years within the automotive industry. Prior to becoming Cooper Automotive president, he held a variety of senior level positions with Cooper, including director of manufacturing services, vice president of lighting products, and vice president of North American operations. Before joining Cooper, Campbell held positions with Ford Motor Company, Elano enterprises (General Electric Aerospace), and Massey Ferguson.
Campbell will report to Thomas E. Evans, president of Tenneco Automotive. "We are extremely pleased to have Joel join us as part of the Tenneco Automotive team," Evans said. "He is highly regarded throughout the automotive industry and brings us a wealth of automotive and business experience. Joel has both a growth and results oriented track record and is a natural fit within Tenneco Automotive."
As senior vice president and general manager of Tenneco Automotive's North American aftermarket business unit, Campbell will have responsibility and operational control for the business unit's manufacturing facilities, distribution centers and 4,000 employees. Tenneco Automotive's North American aftermarket unit has leading market share positions in ride control with Monroe(R) and Rancho(R) brand shocks and struts and exhaust products under the Walker(R) and Dynomax(R) brand names.
Campbell holds a B.B.A. degree from Western Michigan University and completed post graduate studies at Western Michigan University, the University of South Carolina, Wayne State University and Brenau College. He has also completed the Leading Product Development program at Harvard Business School.
Campbell will be based at Tenneco Automotive's world headquarters in Lake Forest, Illinois.
