Nissan Announces Pricing On All-New 4-Door 1999 Quest; Minivan Offers Buyers More Space, Power, Standard Features
GARDENA, Calif., Oct. 13 -- Nissan Motor Corporation U.S.A.
today announced pricing for the bigger, more powerful and all-new 1999 model
year Nissan Quest, which will be in Nissan dealerships soon. On an average
equipment-adjusted basis, the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for
the Quest decreased 9 percent versus last year.
The second generation, four-door Quest is offered in three well-equipped
models -- the value-oriented GXE, the sporty SE and the top-of-the-line GLE.
The 1999 GXE has a base price of $22,159 (MSRP), which is $940 less than the
1998 XE base price and also includes more than $1,300 of new standard
equipment. GXE equipment includes power front windows, power door locks,
cruise control, remote keyless entry, privacy glass, luggage rack, rear window
wiper/washer and QUEST TRAC(R) seating with removable second-row bench seat.
Several options are available with the Quest GXE. Among them is the
Comfort Plus Package, which includes leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio
controls, rear air conditioning with second-row controls, rear audio controls,
second row 12-volt DC power outlet, heavy duty battery, replaceable in-cabin
microfilter and the multi-adjustable Quest Smart Shelf. This package adds
$649 (MSRP) to the GXE model.
For buyers who require the versatility of a minivan, but also want sporty
handling and performance, the Quest SE is the value offering at $23,899
(MSRP). The SE features 16" alloy wheels, a sport-tuned suspension and the
popular white-faced gauges common among Nissan SE models. An automatic on/off
headlight system, six-way power driver's seat, power flip-out rear quarter
windows, flip-up rear hatch glass, Quest Smart Shelf and HomeLink(R) Universal
Transceiver all are part of the SE Convenience Package, which adds $799 (MSRP)
to the SE model.
The Quest GLE provides a higher level of luxury, but still has minivan
convenience and utility at an MSRP of $26,299. Standard to the GLE are
leather seating, power seats and two-position memory driver's seat , 6-disc
in-dash CD autochanger, and rear air conditioning and audio controls. Several
options are available with GXE, such as a sunroof package, which adds $899
(MSRP).
The 1999 Quest was designed in La Jolla, Calif., and engineered through
Nissan facilities in Michigan, California and Arizona. Major body components
are produced by Nissan in Smyrna, Tenn. Final assembly is at Avon Lake, Ohio.
