Nissan Announces Pricing On All-New 4-Door 1999 Quest; Minivan Offers Buyers More Space, Power, Standard FeaturesGARDENA, Calif., Oct. 13 -- Nissan Motor Corporation U.S.A. today announced pricing for the bigger, more powerful and all-new 1999 model year Nissan Quest, which will be in Nissan dealerships soon. On an average equipment-adjusted basis, the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the Quest decreased 9 percent versus last year. The second generation, four-door Quest is offered in three well-equipped models -- the value-oriented GXE, the sporty SE and the top-of-the-line GLE. The 1999 GXE has a base price of $22,159 (MSRP), which is $940 less than the 1998 XE base price and also includes more than $1,300 of new standard equipment. GXE equipment includes power front windows, power door locks, cruise control, remote keyless entry, privacy glass, luggage rack, rear window wiper/washer and QUEST TRAC(R) seating with removable second-row bench seat. Several options are available with the Quest GXE. Among them is the Comfort Plus Package, which includes leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, rear air conditioning with second-row controls, rear audio controls, second row 12-volt DC power outlet, heavy duty battery, replaceable in-cabin microfilter and the multi-adjustable Quest Smart Shelf. This package adds $649 (MSRP) to the GXE model. For buyers who require the versatility of a minivan, but also want sporty handling and performance, the Quest SE is the value offering at $23,899 (MSRP). The SE features 16" alloy wheels, a sport-tuned suspension and the popular white-faced gauges common among Nissan SE models. An automatic on/off headlight system, six-way power driver's seat, power flip-out rear quarter windows, flip-up rear hatch glass, Quest Smart Shelf and HomeLink(R) Universal Transceiver all are part of the SE Convenience Package, which adds $799 (MSRP) to the SE model. The Quest GLE provides a higher level of luxury, but still has minivan convenience and utility at an MSRP of $26,299. Standard to the GLE are leather seating, power seats and two-position memory driver's seat , 6-disc in-dash CD autochanger, and rear air conditioning and audio controls. Several options are available with GXE, such as a sunroof package, which adds $899 (MSRP). The 1999 Quest was designed in La Jolla, Calif., and engineered through Nissan facilities in Michigan, California and Arizona. Major body components are produced by Nissan in Smyrna, Tenn.
