Donnelly Electronics Receives QS9000 RegistrationHOLLY, Mich., Oct. 13 -- Donnelly Electronics has achieved QS9000 certification, indicating that the company has met the quality standards established by the automotive industry. QS9000 is the set of fundamental quality requirements established primarily by Chrysler, Ford and General Motors to reduce the confusion and cost that came from having different quality standards suppliers had to meet. QS9000 is derived from ISO9001, the international standards for manufacturing quality, but it includes requirements and measurables specific to the automotive industry. "Since forming Donnelly Electronics in 1996, our team has worked hard to continually improve our quality standards, and receiving this certification is one indicator of the success we have achieved," said David Taylor, Donnelly Electronics president. "But like all suppliers, we realize this award, while important, doesn't mean we have met all of our quality goals. Instead, it will serve as a reminder that we must keep working to give our customers better and better products." Donnelly Electronics outside registrar, Entela, Inc., presented the company with the certificate of compliance in October. Donnelly Electronics is the one-thousandth company Entela has registered to QS9000 requirements. During its third-party audit by Entela, Donnelly Electronics was commended for the speed in which it met all the quality requirements. Donnelly Electronics achieved certification in 10 months, well below the average registration time of 12 to 18 months. Donnelly Electronics is a manufacturer of electronic components, with a customer list including companies from the automotive, appliance and toy industries. Donnelly Electronics designs, tests and manufactures circuit boards and produces wiring harnesses. Located in Holly, Michigan, Donnelly Electronics was established in 1996 and currently has about 75 employees. The company is a joint venture with Donnelly Corporation , an automotive supplier headquartered in Holland, Michigan.
