Monaco Coach Corporation Announces Expansion of Oregon Operations
    COBURG, Ore., Oct. 12 -- Monaco Coach Corporation
today announced a major expansion of its Oregon operations.
Monaco will invest approximately $15 million for new facilities, providing
additional manufacturing capacity to build both Holiday Rambler brand and
Monaco brand motorhomes.  The Company is acquiring 37.5 acres, including an
existing office building, from Pape Properties.  The building, which will be
used for additional administrative office space, and the acreage are located
adjacent to the existing Monaco Coach Corporation operations in Coburg,
Oregon.  The project is targeted for a late summer 1999 completion and will
add approximately 350,000 total square feet to the Company's current Coburg
facilities.
    According to Kay L. Toolson, Monaco Coach Corporation CEO & Chairman,
"This expansion is another element of our overall corporate growth strategy,
and will allow us to better meet increased demand for our high-line diesel
motorhomes, as well as gasoline-powered coaches for the rapidly growing west-
coast markets."  Toolson also stated that the new Oregon facilities will
complement the Company's recently expanded operations in northern Indiana.
    With this expansion, Monaco plans to add approximately 200 new employees,
bringing total employment in Lane County to over 1000 employees.  John Nepute,
Monaco Chief Financial Officer stated, "We chose to continue our expansion
process in Lane County to further optimize our rich employee base and strong
Oregon management team.  This expansion will provide quality, high-paying
manufacturing jobs which will benefit the local communities."
