Future Three, Inc. is Approved for General Motors-MGO EDIFACT Processing
NORTHVILLE, Mich., Oct. 9 -- Future Three, Inc., developers
of fully integrated, Y2K-compliant EDI/release accounting and shipping control
applications for automotive suppliers, announces that General Motors
has approved AutoRelease Version 12 for MGO EDIFACT processing.
With the globalization of GM's common systems and processes, GM is
migrating to EDIFACT (Electronic Data Interchange for Administration, Commerce
and Transportation), which is a global and year 2000 compatible EDI Standard.
The EDIFACT standard will be required for the exchange of data with GM.
'MGO', Material Global Optimization, is GM's EDIFACT EDI system that is
replacing the current X-12 standards. Future Three is implementing the
approved AutoRelease system with all current customers according to an agreed
upon time-line. Beta testing has begun, and the migration to the EDIFACT-
capable system will be concluded as agreed.
The main elements of the information exchange for productive materials can
be summarized into two areas: incoming information such as forecast and
shipment information; and outgoing information such as Advanced Ship Notices.
By accepting these changes, Future Three is helping GM suppliers meet the
OEM's objectives and ensure the growth of future business.
Future Three will continue to meet GM's EDIFACT mandates, including
Saturn's Spring Hill EDIFACT implementation and GM-SPO Service Production
Operations. These operations plan on being EDIFACT compliant by 12/31/98.
Northville-based Future Three develops integrated release accounting
software systems that enable automotive suppliers to manage their complete
supply chain. Since 1983, Future Three has emerged as a leading organization
in the integration of data throughout the manufacturing systems of North
America. Today, Future Three's Y2K-compliant software systems are an integral
part of fully-integrated supply chain management solutions designed for high-
volume automotive suppliers.
