Modine Completes Acquisition of Core Holdings Incorporated

    RACINE, Wis.--Oct. 8, 1998--Modine Manufacturing Company today completed the acquisition of Core Holdings Incorporated of Orlando, Fla., an aftermarket wholesale distributor specializing in complete lines of vehicular engine-cooling and air-conditioning system products.
    The acquisition, which was announced on July 15, was a cash transaction. Core Holdings had sales of $54.1 million in 1997. Its approximately 380 employees operate out of more than 50 locations throughout the southeastern United States and manufacture air-conditioning parts at a plant in Texas.
    Modine is a world leader at solving heating and cooling problems in vehicles, buildings, and off-highway and industrial equipment. With annual sales of more than $1 billion, Modine employs about 8,400 persons worldwide.
