Standard Motor Products, Inc. Announces Management Change

    NEW YORK, Oct. 7 -- Standard Motor Products, Inc.,
, automotive replacement parts manufacturer and distributor,
announced today that Stanley Davidow, Vice President and General Manager of
the Company's Four Seasons Temperature Control Division, has resigned his
position to pursue other interests.  Mr. John Gethin, Senior Vice President
Operations, will assume the position of General Manager on an interim basis
until a replacement is found.
    Lawrence Sills, President, said, "Mr. Davidow has been primarily
responsible over the past 20 years for building the Four Seasons business into
the leader in its market.  We thank him for his efforts and loyalty, and wish
him the best in his future endeavors."
