Daewoo Worthing Technical Centre Selects DesignQA Software From Prescient Technologies

BOSTON--Oct. 7, 1998--Prescient Technologies, Incorporated announced today that Daewoo Worthing Technical Centre, an automotive design leader and member of Daewoo Motor Co., Ltd of Seoul, Korea, has selected DesignQA as their Engineering Quality Assurance solution. The selection of DesignQA follows a comprehensive evaluation.
"We are committed to continuous improvement both in our products and our processes," noted Andrew J. Arkwright, Manager - Engineering Applications, of Daewoo Worthing Technical Centre. "After careful consideration and a detailed look at all of our options, we selected DesignQA and Prescient Technologies because of the strength of their product and their focus on this issue as a company."
The goal of using DesignQA at Daewoo Worthing Technical Centre is to further improve product quality by building quality assurance into the design process. DesignQA detects, assesses, and corrects design and modeling problems and provides the user with quantitative and qualitative assessments of individual problems and overall CAD model quality. This functionality enables a user to evaluate the overall impact of a CAD model problem, and correct it early in the design process. DesignQA helps shorten the product development cycle by eliminating unnecessary iterations due to design or modeling errors, omissions or inconsistencies. DesignQA is directly integrated with the primary CAD/CAM system employed at Daewoo Motor Co., CATIA(R) from Dassault Systemes
"We are delighted to have been selected by Daewoo Worthing Technical Centre as their design quality software partner," said Stuart A. Bernstein, Vice President of Worldwide Sales at Prescient Technologies. "This represents a further commitment to quality by Daewoo Motor Co., Ltd., and a validation of our global leadership as the premier Design Quality Assurance company."
