Universal Ice Blast, Inc. Announces it Is Coming of Age After Successful Contracts With the New York State Dept. of Transportation And The Robert Bosch CorporationBELLEVUE, Wash., Oct. 5 /PR Newswire/ -- In June, 1998, UIBI (OTC Bulletin Board: UIBI) was awarded a contract from the New York DOT to clean lead based paint from two highway bridges from an allotment of 13. Over the past several months, the project has been a great success and UIBI has been commended by the NY DOT. "We intend to use ice blast again in future projects," said Tom Mannix, structural engineer leading the project for the NY DOT Region 8. As a consequence of becoming the first ever to remove lead based paint, UIBI and the NY DOT will give a joint presentation on the ice blast process at the SSPC International Conference and Exhibition in Florida next month. Proof that the world has its eye on ice blast, this will be the second conference that UIBI has been involved with in just three months. In September, UIBI's president, Sam Visaisouk, presented a paper to the 5th International Deburring and Surface Finishing Conference, a world-wide event held every two years, which made its American debut for the first time in San Francisco, Calif. UIBI, heralded as a leader in the field of deburring and edge finishing, presented a case study on the successful engineering and development of their precision cleaning process for the Robert Bosch Corporation, world reknown in the automotive parts manufacturing industry. "UIBI was very well received," said its company president, Sam Visaisouk who presented the case study. "The conference gave us international recognition and has opened doors to future projects with Volvo in Sweden and Mercedes Benz in Germany," he said. Universal Ice Blast, Inc. was established to aggressively market, manufacture, sell and service its proprietary ice blast equipment and technology. Ice blast is a reliable, cost-effective and environmentally friendly process applicable to asbestos and lead based paint removal, deburring of machined parts, and nuclear decontamination, all with very little waste and no dust. "There is now a great acceptance in key markets of the ice blast process and UIBI has a significant foothold in each," said Rory Clarke, company chairman.
