Federal-Mogul Appoints William J. Zdeblick Director, Technical Center, Plymouth, Michigan

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Oct. 5 -- Alan R. Begg, vice president,
technology, Federal-Mogul Corporation , announces the appointment
of William J. Zdeblick to director of the company's Plymouth, Michigan
Technical Center.
    "We are very pleased to have a person of Bill's capabilities join the
Federal-Mogul team," said Begg.  "His 20 years in advanced engineering
technology and manufacturing science will contribute to Federal-Mogul's
continued success as a technology leader."
    Zdeblick will be responsible for Federal-Mogul's central research and
development activities in North America, including advanced engine testing and
systems development.  Prior to joining Federal-Mogul, Zdeblick held the
position of manager, enabling technologies and advanced manufacturing with
Borg-Warner Automotive, Lombard, Illinois.
    Zdeblick earned a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering and Master of Science
and Bachelor of Science degrees in industrial engineering from the University
of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Illinois.  He is Associate Editor of the
Journal for Manufacturing Systems, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.
