Porsche U.S. Sales up Thirty-Four Percent in September 1998

              Sales Reflect a 31% Gain in Sales for 911 Carrera

    ATLANTA, Oct. 5 -- Porsche Cars North America, importer and
distributor of Porsche sports cars in the United States announced today sales
and stock figures for the month of September 1998.  Figures reflect a 37%
increase in Boxster, as well as a 31% increase in the model runout of the 1998
911 Carrera, and the market acceptance of the 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe
and Cabriolet for 1998 calendar year to date.  Total Boxster and 911 Carrera
sales results in a 34% sales increase for the 1998 calendar year to date.
