Chrysler International Reports September Sales
    AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Oct. 2 -- Chrysler Corporation
announced that total international sales outside of North America were down 24
percent for the month of September, with 14,317 units sold compared to 18,760
units sold one year ago.
    Chrysler's European sales were 7,460 units, a 3 percent increase over
sales of 7,249 units last year.  Other regions include Latin America, with
3,573 units sold, a 21 percent decrease from last year, Asia Pacific, with
2,341 units sold, a 57 percent decrease and Middle East/Africa, with 943 units
sold, a 40 percent decrease.
    Total international sales year-to-date are down 14 percent, with 152,261
vehicles sold in 1998 compared to 177,310 sold during the same period in 1997.
