Goodyear Expands Sales Efforts in South America
AKRON, Ohio, Oct. 1 -- With a goal of growing sales at twice
the industry rate, Goodyear's Latin America Region is expanding its sales
presence in South America and the Caribbean.
"Because of the increasing importance of original equipment sales, we are
creating a position to focus specifically on our OE customers," said John C.
Polhemus, vice president of Goodyear's Latin America region. "In addition, we
will increase sales support to the Caribbean and the emerging markets of
Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia and Ecuador."
Three new positions will be created to begin the process of sales growth.
James Milk, previously, manager of plant technical quality, will become
director, original equipment sales and technical operations, Latin America
Region; Martin Kelly, previously manager of export sales for the region, will
become general manager-Caribbean; and Sergio H. Zanini, formerly regional
manager, commercial truck tire sales, Goodyear Venezuela, will become general
manager, emerging markets, Latin America.
"These new positions will enable us to better serve our existing customers
and assist us in supporting new business growth," Polhemus said. "Based on
our region and corporate objectives, we will begin to hire local sales forces
in these emerging markets."
Kelly will be based in Miami and Zanini will be based in Uruguay. Both
will report to Eduardo Fortunato, director, sales & marketing, Latin America
region.
Milk will be based in Akron and report to Polhemus.
All changes are effective Oct. 1.
