Gerber Auto Collision Centers to Implement CCC's Pathways Enterprise SolutionMajor Collision Repair Operator Among Industry's First to Adopt Enterprise-Wide Computing Strategy CHICAGO, Oct. 1 -- CCC Information Services Inc. , the leading provider of solutions to the automotive claims industry, and The Gerber Group, Inc., a major operator of high-quality collision repair facilities and auto glass replacement services, today announced that Gerber will implement CCC's Pathways(R) Enterprise Solution to manage the comprehensive business activities of its five Chicago-area locations. Pathways Enterprise Solution is designed to automate all aspects of large- scale collision repair businesses in a completely integrated system that leverages the capabilities of the Internet as well as Windows(TM) NT. Developed in partnership with Kirmac Information Technologies, Inc., the system utilizes the most current Microsoft development tools and applies workflow design principles. Gerber Auto Collision Centers will begin implementation during the fourth quarter of 1998 with the goal of completing installations in all collision repair locations and the corporate office early in 1999. "We considered those systems developed for the collision repair industry, as well as in-house development," said Eddie Cheskis, chairman and CEO of Gerber. "CCC's solution was clearly superior. The system will give us the ability to standardize operational details across all locations, providing efficiencies and predictable results." "Our customers will gain real benefits from this technology," stated Richard Fish, Gerber's executive vice president, Sales and Marketing. "The system supports production efficiencies to help us deliver quality repairs on time, and the communication capabilities are outstanding. Any Gerber employee at any location has immediate access to the status of any job, so our customers will receive repair updates with unprecedented speed and accuracy." "Neal Gerber has been a real innovator in this business for many years, running multiple locations and integrating collision repair and glass replacement operations long before those ideas were commonplace," said John Buckner, president of CCC's Automotive Services Division. "We are proud that The Gerber Group has chosen our solution, which indicates that they plan to continue to provide industry leadership and innovation." Founded in 1937, The Gerber Group has served the consumer and insurance industry, first with auto glass replacement, then with collision repair, for over 60 years. It is the largest collision repair group in Chicagoland and has plans for aggressive expansion throughout the Midwest. CCC Information Services Inc., headquartered in Chicago, IL, is the automotive claims industry's leading supplier of advanced software and communications systems.
