Johnson Controls Appoints Jeff Steiner Director of Business DevelopmentPLYMOUTH, Mich., Sept. 30 -- Jeffrey P. Steiner has been promoted to director of business development for Johnson Controls' DaimlerChrysler Business Unit, he had been director of worldwide marketing communications for the company. The announcement was made today by Rande Somma, president of marketing and business development for Johnson Controls. In his new role, Steiner will be responsible for leading the company's new business development activity for interior systems with DaimlerChrysler Corp. The move is part of the company's commitment to align its product development organization with each customer's vehicle development process. The move will help Johnson Controls ensure the delivery of a steady stream of high-value, consumer-focused product opportunities to its customers. Steiner joined Johnson Controls in 1993 as manager of marketing communications for the Automotive Systems Group and was promoted in April 1997 to director of worldwide marketing communications. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in marketing from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Mich. Steiner is on the board of directors for the Automotive Press Association.
