Bell & Howell to Provide Electronic Parts Catalogs Globally for Isuzu
    SKOKIE, Ill., Sept. 29 -- Bell & Howell Company ,
through its Publication Systems business unit, today announced it has signed a
contract to provide electronic parts catalogs (EPCs) for Isuzu's passenger
cars, trucks and industrial engines for all Isuzu dealerships globally outside
of Japan.  Bell & Howell has provided EPCs for Isuzu dealers in the United
States since 1993.
    "Our success with Isuzu in North America was crucial to developing this
global business relationship," commented Ted Fellowes, Senior Vice President
of Bell & Howell's worldwide automotive business.  "Bell & Howell is already a
worldwide provider of EPCs for Chrysler, Opel and Mercedes-Benz.  With the
signing of this contract with Isuzu, our first world-wide contract with a
Japanese automotive manufacturer, Bell & Howell continues to set the standard
as the industry leader."
    The first phase of the product runs on Windows 95(TM) and includes
passenger cars and commercial vehicles.  The new global Isuzu EPC, which
includes catalogs from 1986 through the current model year, offers fast, easy
access to parts catalogs with its exclusive vehicle identification number
(VIN) filtering and option code decoding features.  In addition, the
application features part name search, user notes and global part number
search.  The second phase, which will run on a Windows NT Client Server
platform, will include industrial engine catalogs and a version in German.
The second phase will be available in early 1999.
