    Environmental Systems Products Holdings Inc. Extends Expiration Date
    for the Outstanding 9-1/8% Senior Notes Due 2001 and the Outstanding
    9-5/8% Senior Subordinated Notes Due 2003 of Envirotest Systems Corp. the Expiration Date is Extended to 11:59 P.M., New York
    City Time, On Tuesday, October 13, 1998


    Environmental Systems Products Holdings Inc. ("ESPH") announced today that ESPH has extended the Expiration Date of its tender offers for the outstanding 9-1/8% Senior Notes due 2001 (the "9-1/8% Notes") and the outstanding 9-5/8% Senior Subordinated Notes due 2003 (the "9-5/8% Notes", and together with the 9-1/8% Notes, the "Notes") of Envirotest Systems Corp. ("Envirotest") (AMEX: ENR).
    The tender offers will expire at 11:59 p.m., New York City time, on Tuesday, October 13, 1998, unless otherwise extended.
