Federal-Mogul Awarded Sixth Consecutive Quality Assured Supplier By Caterpillar, Inc.

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Sept. 28 -- Federal-Mogul Corporation's
, Blacksburg, Virginia facility has been awarded Quality Assured
Supplier certification by Caterpillar, Inc. , for the sixth
consecutive year.  The criteria for certification requires significant ongoing
quality improvement, specifically in the areas of statistical process control
and conformance evidence.
    "Caterpillar's supplier relationships are vital to our worldwide business
operations," said W.M. McCowan, Caterpillar supplier management, engine
product division.  "We seek to do business only with those suppliers who can
satisfy our stringent quality, price and delivery needs.  Federal-Mogul has
demonstrated to the Caterpillar Certification team that they have met the
challenge."
    "The Blacksburg team, as evidenced by the sixth consecutive year of

to our Caterpillar partners," said Monte Engebritson, Blacksburg plant
manager.
    The Blacksburg facility manufactures engine bearings, such as rod
bearings, main bearings, flange bearings and balance shaft bearings.  The
facility also provides bi-metallic strip to other Federal-Mogul manufacturing
facilities.
