General Motors Selects SkillSet's Product Suite for Enterprise-Wide Recruiting
World's Largest Full-Line Vehicle Manufacturer to Support Growth in the 21st
Century by Deploying SkillSet's Strategic Staffing Applications

PLEASANTON, Calif., Sept. 28 -- SkillSet Software, Inc., the
leading provider of HR applications that automate 100 percent of the
recruiting process, announced today that General Motors has
selected its award-winning suite for applicant tracking and enterprise-wide
recruiting. Initial implementation will feature deployment of SkillSet's
products throughout General Motors' North American Operations. After
extensively reviewing a number of applicant tracking systems, General Motors
selected SkillSet's end-to-end hiring suite.
"SkillSet offered a recruiting package for streamlining the recruiting
process from start-to-finish, allowing HR, hiring managers, employees and
applicants to all be directly involved in the staffing process," said a
spokesperson for the GM team that reviewed various applicant tracking system
solutions. "SkillSet's combination of workflow capabilities, Web-based
products and the ability to provide integration with our PeopleSoft HRMS
application, were factors considered by GM."
Desktop Recruiter is the only solution to automate every step involved in
the entire recruitment process. Easily adaptable around an organization's
unique recruiting procedures, its cost-effective, non-proprietary architecture
fully utilizes the Lotus Notes/Domino platform, enabling MIS to leverage
existing IT investments while achieving a solid ROI. Desktop Recruiter
eliminates paper-driven tasks, saves time and accelerates the hiring timeline,
allowing HR to serve in a more strategic role by collaborating with department
hiring managers and marketing the company to the best talent. Besides its
ability to store scanned resumes, job descriptions, background checks, and
interview notes, Desktop Recruiter automates correspondence, manages approvals
and ties into existing company human resource information systems while
allowing designated employees to search the database for the best candidates.
SkillNet enhances Desktop Recruiter, allowing HR managers to automatically
publish job postings from Desktop Recruiter to the Web and receive candidate
resumes. Manager's ViewPoint for Desktop Recruiter enables hiring managers to
monitor the entire hiring process in real-time, check the status of
requisitions and match candidates to jobs through the convenience of a Web
browser. Employee ViewPoint for Desktop Recruiter allows companies to better
leverage their existing employee base, allowing employees to view the latest
job opportunities and submit applications and referrals online and in
real-time.
Stated Dan White, president and CEO of SkillSet Software, "We're extremely
pleased that General Motors recognized our products for their
cost-effectiveness and ease-of-use, implementation and configuration. By
making SkillSet its applicant tracking vendor of choice, General Motors
reflects our strategy of delivering solutions that offer non-proprietary
architecture, empower HR departments to operate as a strategic arm of their
organization and help our customers address their skills management
challenges."
