Woodward Dream Cruise(TM) Announces 1999 DateOAKLAND COUNTY, Mich., Sept. 25 -- Plans for the fifth annual Woodward Dream Cruise(TM) are already underway. The 16-mile stretch between the Michigan State Fairgrounds and Pontiac will again be the place to be and be seen on Saturday, August 21, 1999. The Woodward Dream Cruise is a celebration of the Motor City's love affair with cars and crusin' along legendary Woodward Avenue in the 50s and 60s. The focus is on family fun, with special events, live music, food and an amazing rolling array of classics, rods and custom cars from all over North America. This event is hosted by the County of Oakland, the Cities of Berkley, Birmingham, Ferndale, Huntington Woods, Pleasant Ridge, Pontiac, Royal Oak, Observer and Eccentric Newspapers, WXYZ-TV Channel 7 and Oldies 104.3 WOMC Radio. "The Woodward Dream Cruise celebrates a simpler time that brings smiles to the faces of young and old alike. More than 1 million people attended the Woodward Dream Cruise in 1998, making it the world's largest one-day automotive event. The Woodward Dream Cruise is organized by WDC, Inc., a 501(c) 4 non-profit organization established in 1995, consisting of a board of directors and officers who serve on an annual basis.
