Kaynar and Microdot Enter into Strategic Alliance with Blanc Aero for Representation in France


    ORANGE, Calif.--Sept. 23, 1998--Kaynar Technologies Inc. (KTI) Wednesday announced a strategic agreement between the Kaynar and Microdot divisions of KTI with Blanc Aero, a division of GFI Industries for representation in France.
    Jordan Law, KTI's chairman and chief executive officer stated, "One of KTI's objectives is to continue to expand and strengthen its position worldwide. This agreement will significantly improve our presence and service in France".
    Frederic Roure, GFI Industries' chairman and CEO said, "Thanks to this alliance with the world's leading producer of nuts and inserts for the aerospace industry, Blanc Aero will offer to its French customers the most comprehensive range of the market".
    Blanc Aero is a wholly-owned subsidiary of GFI Industries, a diversified French group with strong international presence in two core activities: fastening systems for the automobile, aerospace, construction and railways industries (87% of sales) and packaging for the perfume and cosmetic industries (13% of sales). GFI expects more than $500 million revenue in 1998 and has over 4,000 employees.
    KTI designs, develops and manufactures a wide range of specialty components and tooling systems and provides related services used primarily by original equipment manufacturers and their subcontractors to produce aircraft and defense products. In addition, KTI serves the automotive, electrical and other industrial markets and their associated after-markets.
    With headquarters in Orange, KTI operates manufacturing facilities in the United States, Australia and Hungary; sales and marketing offices in the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Belgium, China and Thailand; and sells, markets and distributes its products worldwide through its direct sales force and an international network of distributors and sales agents. KTI has over 1,500 employees.
