Exide Names James M. Diasio as CFOBLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich., Sept. 22 -- Today, the Exide Corporation Board of Directors announced that James M. Diasio has been named as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Diasio returns to Exide after holding the Vice President, Finance position at American Meter Company, a worldwide supplier of natural gas meters, regulators, instrumentation and controls. He will assume this role within the next several weeks. Mr. Diasio has a long-standing history with Exide. He was the Company's Vice President and Controller from 1994 to 1997; and, was the Arthur Andersen & Company's Senior Audit Manager assigned to the Exide engagement. Mr. Diasio spent fourteen years with Arthur Andersen, primarily in the Philadelphia office. Arthur M. Hawkins, Exide's Chairman and CEO, said, "The Board unanimously approved the decision to bring Jim Diasio back into the Exide family. Mr. Diasio is a graduate of LaSalle University and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
