Wheels Named to InformationWeek Magazine Top 500 ListDes Plaines-based company recognized as information technology leader DES PLAINES, Ill., Sept. 21 -- Wheels, a leader in automotive fleet management, has been recognized by InformationWeek Magazine as one of the Top 500 most innovative users of information technology. The company, which pioneered the concept of auto leasing in 1939, now provides a full range of specialized services to help corporations manage their vehicle fleets. Wheels, which has 550 employees, now manages more than 170,000 vehicles. Its holding company, Frank Consolidated Enterprises, currently ranks as one of the largest private companies in the U.S., with more than $1 billion in sales. The InformationWeek 500 is the 10th annual industry report card prepared by the 375,000-circulation weekly publication. Showcased in the report are top companies with at least $1 billion in annual revenue that demonstrate superior technological, process and business innovation.
