Delphi Automotive Begins to Build New Facility in Brazil

Delphi Automotive Announces Construction of Chassis Systems Facility in Brazil
    TROY, Mich., Sept. 18 -- Delphi Automotive Systems announced
today that it is beginning construction of a 65,000-square-foot facility in
Gravatai, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.  Delphi will invest approximately $15
million (U.S.) through 2001 to supply vehicle suspension systems (front and
rear chassis modules) to the new General Motors manufacturing
complex in Gravatai.
    "Delphi is proud to be a systems supplier to General Motors do Brasil,"
stated Guy Hachey, general manager of Delphi Chassis Systems.  "This
demonstrates our ability to provide quality systems that meet the needs of our
customers, globally."
    The facility, which is scheduled for completion during the first quarter
of 1999, will employ approximately 70 people.
