Chrysler Announces Vote Results at the Special Shareholders' Meeting On Merger With Daimler-Benz

    AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Sept. 18 -- Chrysler Corporation
today announced at its Special Meeting of Shareholders in
Wilmington, Delaware that Chrysler Shareholders approved the Corporation's
business combination with Daimler-Benz AG .
    Daimler-Benz Shareholders are also scheduled to vote on the merger
proposal today at a meeting in Stuttgart, Germany.  The vote results of the
Daimler-Benz AG Shareholders' meeting will be announced shortly.
    The next step is for Daimler-Benz Shareholders to exchange their Daimler-
Benz shares into those of DaimlerChrysler, within a period of time extending
from September 24 to October 23, when it is anticipated that the offer will
end.  The affirmative vote on the Chrysler merger proposal will become
effective upon consummation of the Daimler-Benz exchange offer as described in
the Proxy Statement that was distributed to Shareholders in early August.
