GenCorp Names Vice President of Operations for Vehicle Sealing

GenCorp Names Wesley E. Pitts Vice President of Operations for Vehicle SealingFAIRLAWN, Ohio, Sept. 15 -- GenCorp Inc. today announced the appointment of Wesley E. Pitts to the position of Vice President of Operations for its automotive Worldwide Vehicle Sealing business, effective immediately. Pitts will focus on the implementation of strategies aimed at strengthening processes, quality and service at all seven of GenCorp's vehicle sealing manufacturing operations in North America and Europe. Pitts joins GenCorp from TG (USA), Inc. in Missouri and Waterville TG, Inc. in Quebec, where he served as Executive Vice President of Operations since 1997. He was responsible for plants, program management and quality assurance related to plastic molding, painting, steering wheels and rubber hoses for the automotive industry. He also served as Waterville TG's Executive Vice President of Operations for the company's vehicle sealing product lines. "Wes' record shows that he completely understands the role operational excellence plays in providing value-creating growth to a company," said D. Michael Steuert, GenCorp's Chief Financial Officer and interim President of Worldwide Vehicle Sealing. "We will look to him to help maximize profit potential, establish effective cost controls and promote innovative ways to deliver World Class quality and service to our customers." Prior to his recent position, Pitts served as Vice President of Manufacturing Operations for Dura Convertible Systems, an OEM Tier 1 supplier to automotive customers in the United States, Mexico and Europe. He also held various high level management positions with British Tire and Rubber (BTR) for both its Schlegel Sealing Systems and Clarostat Sensors & Controls groups. Pitts attended Memphis State University, majoring in Business Management. He is well-versed in Deming's and Juran's quality management systems.
