NationsRent, Inc. Announces Definitive Agreement with A-1 Rental of TexasFORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Sept. 14 -- NationsRent, Inc. today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to combine its operations with A-1 Rental of Texas. A-1 Rental is one of the largest equipment rental companies serving the Dallas/Ft. Worth and Austin markets. A-1 Rental has been in business for over 42 years and operates 13 locations throughout Texas. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions. James Kirk, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer said, "Adding A-1 Rental to our existing operations in Texas provides NationsRent with a leading position in the state of Texas, which is the third largest state for construction expenditures in the United States. A-1 Rentals' level of service and variety of equipment fit perfectly into the NationsRent operating model." Additionally, NationsRent today announced that it has acquired Witt Rentals in Michigan, Louisiana Rental in Louisiana, A to Z Rents It in Texas, and Sheffield Rental Equipment in Florida. These companies operate a total of four rental locations in four states. NationsRent now operates 84 equipment rental companies with combined annual revenue of approximately $300 million. In addition, the Company has a backlog of acquisitions under definitive agreement or letters of intent (including the A-1 Rental transaction) to acquire 11 companies with 67 locations and combined annual revenue of approximately $185 million. On a pro forma basis, including acquisitions completed and acquisitions under definitive agreement and letters of intent, NationsRent is expected to have an annual revenue run rate of nearly $500 million. NationsRent, Inc. based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida is creating a network of nationally branded equipment rental locations.
