Vollmershausen, an accomplished executive with more than 30 years of management experience in the manufacturing and automotive industries, has been named President and Chief Executive Officer, effective October 1, 1998. He replaces William J. McMahon, who has resigned. "Dennis Vollmershausen is a dynamic leader with extensive industry experience and a strong track record. He is the ideal choice to lead Lund in the next stage of its development as it becomes the leading industry consolidator in this dynamic and growing sector," said Ira Kleinman, Chairman of Lund's Board of Directors. "His more than 30 years of manufacturing and automotive industry experience, in-depth knowledge of the marketplace and marketing skills make Dennis uniquely suited to build on the foundation that was put in place through the combination of Lund and Deflecta-Shield earlier this year." In March 1998, Lund, the leading manufacturer of appearance accessories for light trucks, completed the acquisition of Deflecta-Shield Corporation, a leading manufacturer of both light truck and heavy truck accessories. With this new acquisition, Lund has grown from a company with $45 million in revenues and two facilities to one with revenues of approximately $115 million and six facilities nationwide. Kleinman continued, "The Board would like to thank Bill McMahon for the many contributions he has made to Lund's success to date, and we wish him well with his next endeavor. At the same time, we believe Dennis Vollmershausen is the right person to take Lund to the next level. He has the leadership qualities needed to leverage Lund's industry position and drive shareholder value in the years ahead." "With its leading market position, broad product line, expanding customer base and talented employees, Lund is an extremely well-positioned company in a rapidly consolidating industry," said Vollmershausen. "I am excited to join a company with such exceptional potential and look forward to working closely with the Board and management to build on Lund's leadership position for the long-term benefit of our shareholders, customers and employees." Vollmershausen, 55, comes to Lund from Champion Road Machinery Limited, a Canadian manufacturer of road construction and maintenance equipment, where he was President and CEO. Under Vollmershausen's leadership, Champion realized record financial results, with sales of $240 million in 1997. Prior to joining Champion in 1996, Vollmershausen spent five years as an investor/consultant for private and public companies, for many of which he served as a board member, in such industries as road construction machinery, automotive parts suppliers, vinyl door/window parts, water distribution equipment, industrial conveyor belts, tube bending/forming equipment and automotive accessory manufacturers. Earlier, he spent 26 years at Timberjack Corporation, most recently as President and CEO, where he spearheaded a successful turnaround plan which established Timberjack as the world's leading manufacturer of specialized forestry equipment with sales of $280 million. During his five-year tenure as CEO, Vollmershausen was responsible for growing revenues 180% through strategic joint ventures, acquisitions and internal growth.
