GenCorp Board Declares Dividend

    FAIRLAWN, Ohio, Sept. 11 -- Today the Board of Directors of
GenCorp Inc. declared a quarterly cash dividend of fifteen cents
per share on the issued and outstanding 10c par value common stock of the
company payable November 30, 1998 to shareholders of record on November 2,
1998.
    GenCorp is a market-driven, technology-based manufacturer with leading
positions in numerous polymer product markets as well as the automotive and
aerospace and defense industries.
