SPX's Contech Business Receives Contract from Visteon Automotive Systems
    MUSKEGON, Mich., Sept. 11 -_ SPX Corporation
today announced its Contech division has been awarded a three-year contract to
supply aluminum, magnesium and zinc die-cast components to Visteon Automotive
Systems, an enterprise of Ford Motor Company .
    Under the terms of the contract, SPX will expand the line of die-cast
components it already provides to Visteon, as well as increase the number of
global locations to which it currently distributes components.  The contract
will add in excess of $40 million in annualized revenues to SPX's existing
business with Visteon by the year 2001.

SPX to provide quality die-cast components to its global operations.  This
growth opportunity will enlarge our business to include additional components
and will also grow our international business to other regions of the world."
