UAW Michigan CAP Endorses Fieger, Agee, Granholm, ParksDETROIT, Sept. 10 -- The General Board of the UAW Michigan Community Action Program (CAP) has voted to endorse Geoffrey Fieger for Governor, James Agee for Lt. Governor, Jennifer Granholm for Attorney General, and Mary Lou Parks for Secretary of State. The endorsements were announced today by the Chair of UAW Michigan, UAW Secretary-Treasurer Ruben Burks. "Geoffrey Fieger and Jim Agee are progressive candidates who are right on working family issues such as education, HMO patients' rights, protecting nursing home patients, and the environment. "Jennifer Granholm has built an impressive record as an Assistant U.S. Attorney and Wayne County Corporation Counsel," continued Burks. "We are confident that she will continue the Frank Kelley tradition of aggressively defending the interests of Michigan consumers." "Michigan needs a Secretary of State who will put the people's business first -- and that candidate is Mary Lou Parks," said Burks. UAW Michigan CAP also announced endorsements in the following statewide elections: * Michigan Supreme Court -- Susan Borman, Michael Cavanagh, Carole Youngblood * State Board of Education -- Sharon Gire, Barbara Roberts-Mason * Michigan State University Board -- John C. Schlinker, Doris Sims * University of Michigan Board -- Phil Power, Kathy White * Wayne State University Board -- Ron Amen, John Kelly
