New Head of Audi of America is Announced
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Sept. 8 -- Dr. Jens Neumann, Member of
the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG and Chairman of the North American
Region, announced that Len Hunt, currently the Director of Audi UK, will
become the Vice President in charge of Audi of America effective January 1,
1999.
Hunt will succeed Gerd Klauss who currently occupies this position. As
announced, Klauss will become the President and CEO of Volkswagen of America
as of January 1, 1999 and Hunt will report to him.
Hunt has been the Director of Audi UK since 1994. During Hunt's time at
the helm, Audi UK has seen four consecutive record sales years. At Audi of

brand to its full potential and to establish itself firmly as a mainstream
player in the North American luxury car market.
"Audi of America has experienced strong progress and it was critical that
we selected a new leader who could maintain that momentum," remarked Dr.
Neumann. "We, together with Audi AG, are convinced that Len Hunt is uniquely
qualified to fulfill those responsibilities and to lead Audi of America into
the next millennium."
"I look forward to the challenges and opportunities of further solidifying
and improving upon Audi's success," said Len Hunt. "Audi is on the right road
in North America and we must use this momentum to move all aspects of the
brand forward from the initial dealer experience to our ultimate customer
satisfaction ratings."
Prior to joining Audi UK in 1994, Len Hunt worked at Jaguar for eleven
years. During his tenure there he served in various senior management
positions including Worldwide Service Director and the UK Operations Director.
Hunt has worked in the automotive industry all his life having joined the
Rover Group as a university graduate in 1978. Hunt, 42, is married and has
two children.
