Colors on Parade Sets Sales Record for Second Straight Month

NORCROSS, Ga.--(AutomotiveWire)--Sept. 8, 1998--Atlanta-based Colors on Parade recorded record sales of more than $2.41 million for the month of July, beating last month's sales of $2.39 million.
It marks the second consecutive month of record sales for the 10 year old company.
Colors on Parade is the franchisor for more than 300 mobile automotive reconditioning units nationwide. Franchisees and area developers recently met in Atlanta to develop business and technical skills, setting a record for attendance. This year's conference featured a technical showcase which instructed franchisees on new and developing technologies within the system.
"Our goal is to have 1,000 franchises identified by the year 2000. This conference helped us put the system in place to support this growth," Chris Kopp, Chief Operating Officer.
"This conference allowed for open communication between the corporate office and the franchise system," according to Kopp, adding that communication is one key to success.
In the past five years, annual sales have grown from $2 million to more than $20 million. Colors on Parade top area markets for July were: Atlanta; Nashville and Knoxville, Tenn.; Washington D.C.; Chapel Hill, N.C.; Phoenix, Ariz.; Sacramento, Calif.; Roanoke, Virg.; and the South Florida area which includes Miami and Ft. Lauderdale.
Starting with Colors on Parade in 1992, Kopp remembers when there were only three corporate employees. Now, the system has grown to more than 30 employees and 300 franchises. Kopp attributes the growth of the Colors on Parade system to improved training, stronger support systems, improving technology and developing new markets.
Using patented paint-matching technology, Colors on Parade technicians can repair minor scratches and scrapes with same day service. Colors on Parade franchises offer additional services such as interior restoration, windshield repair and paint-free dent removal. Colors on Parade technicians do body shop quality work on-site for car dealerships working from mobile laboratories.
Recent Franchisor of the Year award winner from the Southeast Franchise Forum, the Colors on Parade system has units operating in 30 states coast-to-coast and is continually expanding into new markets. To maintain its high-quality restoration technology, Colors on Parade opened a new research and development facility this past May in Conway, S.C., located seven miles outside of Myrtle Beach.
