Bell & Howell Introduces Electronic Parts Catalog for LexusRICHFIELD, Ohio, Sept. 4 -- Bell & Howell Company's Publication Systems business unit today introduced an electronic parts catalog (EPC) for Lexus dealerships. The EPC launch provides dealers with seamless EPC availability and coincides with the discontinuation of the manufacturer's Lexus EPC. The new Bell & Howell Lexus EPC application, which includes parts catalogs from the original Lexus model in 1990, offers fast, easy access to parts catalogs with its exclusive vehicle identification number (VIN) filtering feature. A user simply enters the vehicle's VIN and the EPC generates parts applicable to that vehicle, automatically eliminating part numbers not related to that particular VIN. In addition to VIN filtering, the new EPC application features time-saving bookmarks, user notes and global part number search. "Lexus dealers will simply type in a part number to take them right to the catalog used so they can open it and see where that part is used," said Ted Fellowes, Vice President of Bell & Howell's automotive business. Further, the Lexus EPC is completely integrated into the in-house dealer system. Staff can access all functions, including price and inventory information, directly from the EPC workstation. "This unrivaled combination of features is the type of productivity-enhancing tool that significantly impacts profits," concluded Fellowes. The new EPC application interfaces with a Windows operating system and offers a built-in "Help" feature for ease of use. Integral to the EPC installation is user training from Bell & Howell technicians right in the dealership, as well as responsive field service and unequaled technical support.
