Porsche U.S. Sales Up 134 Percent In August 1998

    ATLANTA, Sept. 3 -- Porsche Cars North America, importer and
distributor of Porsche sports cars in the United States, today announced sales
and stock figures for the month of August 1998. Figures reflect a 134%
increase in sales for the Boxster, and market acceptance of the 1999 Porsche
911 Carrera Coupe and Cabriolet.  The result contributes to a 39% sales
increase for the 1998 calendar year to date.
