Chrysler Declares Dividend

    AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Sept. 3 -- Chrysler Corporation
announced today that its Board of Directors has declared a dividend
of $0.40 per share on the company's common stock.  The dividend is payable
October 15, 1998, to shareholders of record on September 15, 1998.
