Mobil Introduces Improved Version of its Mobil SHC 600 Series

FAIRFAX, Va.--Sept. 3, 1998--Mobil announced today that it has launched an improved version of its Mobil SHC 600 Series industrial synthetic bearing and gear lubricant that lasts up to eight times longer than mineral oil.
Users of Mobil's new SHC 600 Series will benefit from the extended oil and component life, unmatched by any mineral or hydroprocessed lubricant, which can reduce the amount of unscheduled downtime in an industrial manufacturing operation. Reduced downtime means increased savings from fewer maintenance repairs and increased production output.
The new SHC Series contains special anti-wear additive technology to help extend equipment life. These products also provide extreme protection in the face of high and low temperature applications often encountered in industry. Equipment builders have endorsed the significant improvements documented in extensive industry and customer field testing.
"Our goal is to consistently provide our customers with the highest performing products and technical services that enhance their business performance," says George Siragusa, Manager, Industrial Lubricants Marketing. "Mobil's synthetic lubricants have helped save our customers thousands of dollars annually."
In addition to providing longer life, the reformulated Mobil synthetic lubricant offers substantial antifoam capability, outstanding stability and performance in the presence of water, while maintaining viscosity in extreme temperature conditions. The new formulation, which is fully compatible with all existing SHC 600 Series oils, is an orange color to assist customers in detecting oil levels in the sight glass on their equipment.
With more than 50 years experience in manufacturing industrial synthetic products, Mobil's research team was able to develop the new SHC 600 Series as a result of the company's long- term investment in synthetic base stock and finished product formulation.
