Nelms Technologies Names Rick Homan Senior Vice President Of Sales and MarketingROMULUS, Mich., Sept. 2 -- Nelms Technologies, Inc. has named Rick Homan senior vice president of sales and marketing, according to the announcement here today by Joe Lewis, president. In the newly created position, Homan's responsibilities include corporate strategic planning and sales and marketing for the Company's W.A. Thomas and Hy-Lift operating units. "We are confident in Homan's ability to increase our sales penetration for the global OEM and aftermarkets that use our parts and assemblies," said Lewis. Nelms Technologies and its operating units design, manufacture and assemble a variety of hydraulic and mechanical lifters, valve guides and transmission components, among other products. "Rick Homan shares the Company's philosophy of providing cost effective solutions to customers on a timely basis. His excellent industry reputation and many years of experience in our markets will greatly assist our efforts in forging new alliances and new customers," said Lewis. Homan joined the Company in 1996 as part of its acquisition of Hy-Lift from SPX Corporation , assuming the position of vice president of European markets. During this period Homan established a global marketing strategy for Hy-Lift, said Lewis. "These efforts resulted in the execution of various new parts distribution contracts with substantial companies that will significantly increase Hy-Lift's sales base," he said. From 1983 to 1996, Homan was employed by SPX, where his last eight years were as director of sales and marketing for its Sealed Power and Hy-Lift units as well as a joint venture in Japan. Mr. Homan will maintain his principal office in Muskegon, Mich. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Aquinas College and resides in Spring Lake, Mich. with his wife, Pam. Nelms Technologies is a leading designer and manufacturer of components used in engines, transmissions and other applications for automotive and general industry customers worldwide.
