AIAG and Bellcore Announce the Production Launch of ANX(R) Service
SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Sept. 2 -- The Automotive Industry Action
Group (AIAG) and Bellcore today announced that Dofasco, Inc. and Taylor Steel,
Inc. have become the first subscribed trading partners on the Automotive
Network eXchange(R) (ANX(R)) Network. This announcement signals the ANX
service production launch.
ANX service production started when Dofasco and Taylor Steel contracted
with an ANX Certified Service Provider (CSP) and began exchanging data over
the ANX Network. Current ANX Certified Service Providers include Ameritech,
Bell Canada and EDS.
"This commitment from Dofasco, Inc. and Taylor Steel, Inc. illustrates the
automotive supply chain's eagerness to reduce its current and future
communication costs," said Richard T. Simmons, AIAG executive director on loan
from Ford Motor Co. "We encourage more suppliers to become ANX subscribed
trading partners and take advantage of the security and efficiency the ANX
Network has to offer."
"The Bellcore ANX Overseer team is working with many trading partners to
get them subscribed to use this cost-saving network," said Bryan Whittle,
general manager of the ANX Overseer business at Bellcore.
Automotive suppliers interested in becoming an ANX subscribed trading
partner can obtain more information at Bellcore's ANX Overseer website at
http://www.anxo.com.
The ANX Network is a secure, business-quality data communications network

mission-critical data, with ANX connections replacing the complex and limiting
communications infrastructure currently used among automotive trading
partners.
Among the companies that helped drive the development of the ANX Network
are: Caterpillar, Chrysler Corp., Dana Corp., Dofasco Inc., Ford Motor Co.,
General Motors Corp., PACCAR, Robert Bosch Corp., TRW Inc. and UT Automotive,
Inc.
