UTC Names Angelo Messina Vice President, Financial Planning and AnalysisHARTFORD, Conn., Sept. 2 -- United Technologies Corp. (UTC) today announced the appointment of Angelo J. Messina as vice president, financial planning and analysis at its corporate office. He previously served as director, financial planning and analysis. Messina, 45, will lead UTC's efforts to integrate the company's business strategy into the financial planning process and provide counsel on a variety of strategic financial matters. He will report to David FitzPatrick, UTC's senior vice president and chief financial officer. Messina began his career at UTC as associate legal counsel at Carrier in 1983, and subsequently served in the same capacity at the corporate office and Otis. From 1993 to 1996 he served as director, investor relations, and was named vice president, strategic planning at Pratt & Whitney in 1996. Prior to joining UTC, Messina held financial positions with Gerber Scientific Inc. and Price Waterhouse. Messina, a resident of Farmington, CT, has a bachelor's degree in accounting from Central Connecticut State University, a law degree from the University of Connecticut, and a master's degree in management from MIT. With almost $25 billion in revenues and 1,900 locations in 183 countries around the world, UTC provides a broad range of high technology products and support services to the building systems, automotive and aerospace industries. The corporation's products include Pratt & Whitney jet engines, Carrier heating and air conditioning systems, Otis elevators and escalators, Sikorsky helicopters, Hamilton Standard flight and space systems, and UT Automotive components and systems.
