Magna Announces Joint Venture With Grammer A.G. To Supply Truck Interior Systems
AURORA, Ontario, Sept. 2 -- Magna International Inc.
announced the formation of a 50/50
joint venture company with Grammer A.G. of Amberg, Germany, to supply truck
interior systems to service the North American medium and heavy-duty truck
market. The new company's name is GRA-MAG Truck Interior Systems, LLC, and it
will have its headquarters in Livonia, Michigan.
The JV company has been established to introduce the sophisticated truck
seating systems developed and engineered by Grammer A.G., a European market
leader, into North America. GRA-MAG will develop seats to meet the unique
requirements of the North American market and will supply those seats to its
customers on a Just-In-Time ("J.I.T.") basis.
Robert M. Adams of Magna has been appointed President of the company.
According to Adams, "GRA-MAG has already secured business with a major North
American truck producer. We plan to combine the automotive experience and JIT
production background that Magna has in North America with the heavy truck
product expertise of Grammer in Germany. This combination of strengths will
provide the North American market with a higher level of technology and
service at competitive prices."

suppliers in the world, designs and manufactures automotive systems,
assemblies and components primarily for sale in North America, Europe, Mexico,
