DSP Technology Inc. Receives $1.8 Million Contract for RedLine ADAPT Dynamometer Control Systems
FREMONT, Calif.--Sept. 2, 1998--DSP Technology Inc. Wednesday announced receipt of a contract valued at approximately $1.8 million for multiple RedLine ADAPT dynamometer control systems from one of the world's largest automotive manufacturers.
"These RedLine ADAPT dynamometer control units will be installed at the manufacturer's light-vehicle testing and proving grounds, where they will be used for mileage accumulation testing," said F. Gil Troutman, president of DSP Technology.
Troutman explained that mileage accumulation testing involves installing the vehicle on a "treadmill," or chassis dynamometer, and performing multiple drivetrain acceleration and deceleration cycles. The continuous and repeated cycling of the vehicle simulates real driving conditions, performs endurance testing and enables manufacturers to acquire product and durability performance data in a short period of time.
He noted that half the contract award is expected to ship in the current fiscal year.
DSP Technology's RedLine ADAPT dynamometer cell data acquisition equipment and accessories are used for engine, transmission and powertrain testing, research and development.
DSP Technology is a world leader in the design and manufacture of high speed, computer automated, measurement and control instrumentation and systems.
