Pep Boys Adds Senior Merchant

    PHILADELPHIA--Aug. 31, 1998--The Pep Boys - Manny, Moe & Jack , the nation's leading automotive aftermarket retail and service chain, announced the hiring of Robert E. Brann as Vice President-Merchandising.
    Brann will be responsible for merchandise buying and presentation as well as price management.
    Brann, age 46, served as Executive Vice President-Merchandise at Trak Auto since 1990. Prior to joining Trak Auto, Brann's retail merchandising experience was highlighted by three years as Vice President at Frank's Nursery & Crafts, four years as Senior Buyer-Automotive at Target Stores and six years at Tractor Supply Co.
    Pep Boys' CEO, Mitchell G. Leibovitz, made the following commented:
