Nissan Announces Maxima, Altima and Pathfinder MY99 Pricing
GARDENA, Calif., Aug. 31 -- Nissan Motor Corporation U.S.A.
today announced pricing for the 1999 model year Nissan Maxima, Altima and
Pathfinder.

The popular Nissan Maxima continues in the 1999 model year as the flagship
of the Nissan line with a number of refinements - 3-point rear center seat
belt, updated interior trim, the addition of an Ignition Immobilizer for
enhanced security and four new exterior colors - at a Manufacturer's Suggested
Retail Price (MSRP) of $21,499 for the GXE. Including options, the average
MSRP for the Nissan Maxima remained the same for MY99 versus MY98. Equipment
adjusted MSRP decreased $73 (or .28 percent).
In addition to the many standard features of the GXE, the Maxima SE offers
sports-tuned suspension and styling details, alloy wheels and a 120W audio
system, with a starting MSRP of $23,499. For those who seek the ultimate in
luxury, the GLE, with an MSRP of $26,899, provides as standard equipment such
luxury features as leather seating surfaces, extensive wood-tone trim and a
200W Bose AM/FM/CD/cassette audio system.
The 1999 Maxima also offers a variety of options, including for the Maxima
SE and GLE a new Traction Control System ($299 MSRP), which is available with
the purchase of the Deluxe Seating Package ($449), anti-lock braking system
($499) and automatic transmission. Available on the Maxima SE is the SE
Security and Convenience package, which provides power sliding glass sunroof,

and much more for an additional $1,690.

The second generation Altima enters its second year of production for the
1999 model year with strong sales momentum, an enthusiastic owner base and an

The new year offers several refinements, including two new exterior colors
on all models, variable intermittent wipers on GXE and SE models and standard
alloy wheels for the GLE model.
The Altima GXE starts at an MSRP of $17,190, which includes a standard CD
player. The SE starts at $18,490 and includes standard 15" aluminum alloy
wheels, rear spoiler, fog lamps, 120W AM/FM/CD/cassette audio system and
remote keyless entry/vehicle security system. The GLE, at $19,990, has the
equivalent alloy wheels, audio system and remote keyless entry as the SE, but
also comes with standard automatic transmission, leather seating surfaces and
8-way power driver's seat.
A number of options are available, including the Security and Convenience
package on the GXE. This package provides 120W AM/FM/Cassette/CD audio system

(MSRP) to XE, GXE and GLE models and polished alloy wheels which add $599 to
the GXE model.

With a unique ruggedness and comfort combination, the current generation
Pathfinder maintains many attributes that made the original a benchmark in its
class when introduced early in the sport utility vehicle boom. The 1999
Pathfinder continues to feature MonoFrame(R) unibody construction which
provides a strong chassis that is resistant to bending. The MSRP for the
Pathfinder XE 4x2 is $24,149 and for the Pathfinder XE 4x4 is $26,149.
For the pairing of luxury and adventure, Nissan offers the Pathfinder LE

driver and passenger seats with individual controls, leather-wrapped steering
wheel, leather-wrapped automatic transmission shift and transfer case knobs,
