TRW Integrated Supply Chain Solutions Forms Alliance with Eigner + Partner
McLEAN, Va.--Aug. 31, 1998--TRW Integrated Supply Chain Solutions has established a five-year agreement with Germany-based Eigner + Partner, Europe's leading supplier of product data management software and services, to provide product data management and integration services to the global marketplace.
The alliance adds an important ingredient to TRW's portfolio of integrated supply chain solutions and services--product data management. The product data management market is one of the more rapidly growing supply chain segments and offers industry proven "time to market" advantages such as reducing time and cost for engineering and manufacturing organizations.
The clear advantage of product data management comes in linking enterprise resource planning systems more directly with the traditional CAD/CAM (computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing) based systems and processes used to design and develop products within a given firm's operations. Driven by market influences, companies are involving suppliers and customers in the process of product definition, design, and change. Product data management facilitates this integration and also provides a unique advantage to enterprises that choose to do collaborative engineering with their suppliers and clients.
Eigner + Partner has 13 years of product data management expertise, and more than 800 companies worldwide use its solutions to build an overall information flow that bridges the information gap between isolated applications. The company has recently opened offices in Irvine, Calif., and Boston, Mass., in addition to its existing locations in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
