Johnson Controls Signs Facility Management Contract with Mobil Sekiyu Kabushiki KaishaTOKYO, Aug. 27 -- Johnson Controls, Inc. has announced an agreement with Mobil Sekiyu Kabushiki Kaisha, a Japanese subsidiary of Mobil Corporation , for integrated facility management services. This contract, which began in July 1998, is one of the first fully integrated management contracts of its kind in Japan, and the first in Japan for Johnson Controls. The company has formed a new Tokyo - based subsidiary, Johnson Controls Integrated Facility Management, to grow its facility management offering in the Japanese market. Under the agreement with Mobil Sekiyu, Johnson Controls provides facility support services, including facility budgeting, facility management and office service support to Mobil Sekiyu's headquarters building in Tokyo. These services will streamline facility management functions, improving facility performance and controlling facility costs. Johnson Controls already provides integrated facility management services to Mobil facilities in the U.S., the United Kingdom and Singapore under previous agreements. When Mobil developed the new headquarters facility in Japan, it decided to outsource the facility management in order to maximize the efficiency of the building and the quality of the workplace.
